The purpose of this 8-Hour course is to educate workers on how to avoid accidents while working on roofs, leading edges, ladders, or scaffolds. This course will define regulations and safety rules associated with fall hazards on construction job sites. According to Local Law 196, all construction workers that, at their work site, may encounter heights or work around fall hazards must complete this certification and be able to present the credentials of completion at the time of hire for any working site.
This Course is intended to increase awareness of fall hazards and worksite dangers. THIS IS AN AWARENESS-LEVEL TRAINING ONLY and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
Upon Completing this course, the students will be able to:
Recall, identify, and explain terms associated with falls in construction
Explain the importance of fall prevention.
Assess, recognize, and prevent fall hazards to minimize incidents and harm on worksites.
Identify proper anchorage points and calculate fall distance for a variety of fall arrest devices.
List and differentiate OSHA Subpart M and other safety requirements associated with falls.
Discuss the importance of fall prevention techniques and how they apply to avoiding common fall hazards on the job.
100% attendance of this course is required to gain certification. Students must attend all 8-Hours, are expected on time as per Quantum Safety’s rules.
Quantum Safety expects that its students must be able to demonstrate that they can calculate fall distances for various types of fall arrest device and identify appropriate anchorage points. To clearly demonstrate that our students are capable of these objectives, every student must pass a final exam before certification, and achieve at least a 65% passing grade—final exams can be attempted as many times as necessary by a student to gain certification.
LATENESS AND ABSENCES POLICY
Furthermore, 30 minutes will be considered the minimum allowance for lateness. Any student who is absent for any training day or who shows up 30 minutes after the scheduled starting time will be asked to schedule a make-up training day for the contact hours of the day.
